For a moment imagine, who are we? IFA Service Southern Netherlands is an independent technical support center by and for people who own cars from the former GDR (German Democratic Republic). We strive to keep these cars on the road and are members in word and deed. We currently have a number thirty cars in the file, all of which come for repair in our workshop. We also make sure that these cars annually become the MOT or we make them ready for a RDW inspection badge. During the years following the fall of the wall, we have established several contacts, in eastern Germany. This allows us to today have the parts complete cars and two-stroke oil.

To what cars will it actually work? The Trabant is the best known, this car became a symbol of the freedom conquered by the East German people. But there are more cars were produced in the former GDR. The Wartburg, perhaps less well known, was produced in Eisenach, or Longboat who was the East German counterpart of the West German Volkswagen. Cars that are less well known, are the Framo, IFA, Zwickau and the Melkus sports car. Unfortunately, there ended up in the course of the years, many of these magnificent cars on the demolition. Once again a reason to keep this rolling cultural heritage for posterity and keep on the road.

In addition to many activities that we have developed over the years, we also organize several events per year. We’re talking about tours, multi-day events, for example a campsite. It will not of course forget that the cars take center stage, but social networking and socializing are of course in the first place.
